The first reunion of the Daniel Webster Smith Family was held May 24, 2014. We received 167 pre-registrations. Pictured on the left are the descendants of Willie Lester Smith & Kathleen Hall Sawyer Smith. This was the largest group of descendants from Daniel & Lillie's children. This reunion was a wonderful time for us all and was long awaited by many. What a blessing it was be to get reacquainted with relatives we have not seen in many years, as well as meeting relatives we have never met.
There were many photos, documents and stories shared. A list of family sites to visit in Onslow County were provided. Saturday’s meal was catered.
After the reunion the majority decided to have our reunions every even year. Our reunion committee will be meeting in around April/May to make plans to schedule our 2024 gathering.
